Blair Dunlop (born 11 February 1992) is an English actor and musician. He used to attend Repton School, Derbyshire, England, the same school as attended by Roald Dahl, author of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. He has now taken a year out before university to concentrate on his musical aspirations. His first album titled 'An EP' is currently out on Talking Elephant Records.
Dunlop is the son of folk musician Ashley Hutchings (formerly a member of Fairport Convention, and currently of the Rainbow Chasers). He made his acting debut with an American accent in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, directed by Tim Burton. Blair plays the young Willy Wonka, a child under strict rule by his father, a dentist, Dr. Wilbur Wonka (Christopher Lee). He is three days older than his Charlie co-star Freddie Highmore (who played Charlie).
Dunlop was also on an English television show called Rocket Man[1], supposedly based on a nineteenth century railway engineer. Blair played a character named Caleb McNulty for two episodes. He is a keen football fan and regularly attends matches of Tottenham Hotspur, Fiorentina and Real Betis. His favourite player is former Real Betis and current Al-Jazira striker Rafael Sobis.
Outside of acting, he visited St Mary's Primary School, in Chesterfield, Derbyshire, to do an acting course which ran from 2008-2009, with the children of the after-school club the school ran from 3.35 PM.
